April Fools Day The Concept Study

April Flowers

The sun is shining here and the garden is green and growing and filled with spring flowers......

................i have been doing some relaxing crochet in between sewing some commissions.......

............as well as weeding the beds, watering the pots and generally loving the spring......

.............the painters are here again today but it may be their last day as the job is almost done and the old house is looking very spruced up with shiny paintwork now.........

.................my new crochet blanket is underway........i love making these circles in flower colours.....

.............almost all the yarn is stylecraft special dk left over from other projects........

..........there are just a couple of extras from yarn i found on my travels but now cant identify......not a good idea if you want to find the yarn again or tell others what you have used, so i am going to try and keep a note of each yarn that i buy for the future.....

.............some of the tulip bulbs from the old tulip patch have now flowered down in the box garden.....they look pretty there so i will be adding lots more next autumn.........

...............the cutting garden is mass of spring flowers............

..............more of my favourites, bellis daisies.....love these little button flowers so much :).........

..............at easter we got a new seat for under the cedar tree....it is the place to go and sit in the shade on hot summer days........the old seat was in a sorry state so we bought this new one to replace it.........then we decided to mend the old one and put it somewhere else.....cant have too many seats around the garden to sit and rest after gardening, to watch the birds or the grandchildren playing (or do some crochet in the sunshine)........

..................i made the circles into squares and using the join as you go method i started putting the blanket together at the weekend.........

..............this week is a busy one for me, with magazine project making, book proofs to check and all the delicious fabrics in my sewing room waiting to be sewn............and lots of family times too........

................plenty of moments to enjoy the spring flowers as well, i hope.............

April Fools Eve Dont Forget!

I thought I would post a reminder to everyone to prank the kids tonight!

Here are some things I am going to do:

Bed Switcheroo...After they fall asleep, move them to their brother or sisters bed. I cant wait for my 5 year old to wake up in the crib!

Cereal Bag Switcheroo...
Switch all of the cereal bags
into different boxes, they wont
know what they are getting!
This will be a great trick on
my 9 year old. He hates
chocolate!

Sew their clothes shut...use clear thread and sew just a sleeve or the leg of their pants...just be sure that they pick those clothes to wear tomorrow! I am going to tell my kids they have to wear these clothes so I can take their pictures in them.

April Glossy Box The Natural Box

When Aprils Glossy Box arrived at my door last month, I was intrigued to see what goodies were waiting for me, (as of course I am every month!) I was pleasantly surprised to find a pale, kraft coloured box, and was puzzled by what this months theme could be! As I opened it however, it quickly became obvious by the all natural, bio degrabable, packaging, (and of course the name) that it was the "natural box" I was really excited by this and quickly unwrapped it to see what was inside!

The Contents:

Caudalie - Vinisource Thirst-Quenching Serum

Ive been hearing a lot of good things about Caudalie products over the last couple of months, and as I have yet to try out any of their products, was really pleased to see that something from their range was included. The serum is SO light and silky and feels extremely moisturising on the skin. Its suitable for all skin types but it think it would really benefit anyone with really dry skin. Ive been using it when my skin feels extra tight and dry and it works a treat! I also love the smell, it has a very subtle lemony, citrus scent.

INIKA Cosmetics - Certified Organic Lip Liner

I received the colour: 04 - Nude Delight, which is a very soft, pinky beige with a slight shimmer. I think it would work well with a lot of lip colours as its a natural colour that could be blended nicely. I dont often wear lip liners myself, but the colour is so pretty and the pencil is really soft and easily glides on.

Monu Professional Skin Care - Rosewood Reviving Mist

Monu products have been featured quite a lot in beauty boxes over the last year, but this particular one has to be my favourite. I love refreshing facial mists, and this one is perfect. The natural essential oils used in this product include, Lemon, rosewood, clove and clary sage, rosewood being one of my favourites. We received a pretty large 100ml bottle and I think this is going to be perfect to refresh my skin in the summer (if it ever comes!) and Ill also be trying it out over my make up as a fixing spray.

Figs & Rouge - Lip Balm

Probably my favourite out of all the products (although there are some real winners this month). I have a slight obsession with lip and body balms and was very excited to add this one to my collection. Ive never tried a Figs & Rouge balm, and before trying it, was under the impression that it would be quite hard and waxy, (that sort of Burts Bees consistency) but I was wrong! In the tin it has almost a rough texture to it, but it applies so smoothly and feels more like a lip gloss than a sticky balm. The scent of this one is peppermint & tea tree. Ive said before that mint is not my favourite scent in lip products as is makes me feel like my lips are burning! This one however, smells quite strong but doesnt give you that tingly sensation on the lips.

Philip B - Styling Gel

This is probably the product that Ive tried the least out of all of them. I dont really use gel type styling products in my hair, but if youre looking for something new to give you volume, texture and definition, then it could well be worth giving a go. I think I might hand this one over to the boyfriend to try, as it has a rather manly scent in my opinion too!

So thats my round up of Aprils box. And while im here id like to wish GlossyBox a very happy 1st birthday! ill be celebrating with you all tomorrow evening!! Excited!! Congratulations on a fabulous first year of beautiful boxes, and interesting concepts and themes that continue to surprise and delight us all! Keep up the good work GB! x

April Marks 40 Years of Solitary Confinement for Albert Woodfox and Herman Wallace

Update from the International Coalition to Free the Angola 3

This April we are commemorating what has now been 40 years in solitary confinement for Albert Woodfox & Herman Wallace.

On April 17, Robert King will be joined by Amnesty International and other supporters at the Louisiana State Capitol in Baton Rouge to present Amnesty Internationals petition to Governor Bobby Jindal demanding that Wallace and Woodfox be immediately released from solitary confinement ( view/download the flyer here). A press conference on the front steps of the State Capitol will begin at 2pm. A free bus will be departing New Orleans at 12 noon, from 1212 St. Bernard Ave. Seating is limited, so please call (504) 344-1717 to reserve a place by April 15.

If you have not yet done it, this is your last chance to sign the petition before delivery to Governor Jindal. and sent it to all your friends. We need as many signatures as possible. The deadline to sign it is Tuesday April 10.

This Friday, April 6, we are organizing an event in support of the California hunger strikers and marking the 40 year anniversary, with an appearance by Robert King at UC Hastings College of the Law in San Francisco, co-hosted by the Hastings Race and Poverty Law Journal and the Hastings chapter of the National Lawyers Guild. Amnesty Internationals Email Action Alert

Below is the full text of an email action alert sent out yesterday by Amnesty International to its mailing list.

Two Black men, confined to isolation in tiny cells for the last 40 years. End the "Angola 3" nightmare.

No human being deserves this.

23 hours a day isolated in a small cell, four steps long, three steps across. Three times a week for exercise in an outdoor cage, weather permitting. A few hours every week to shower or simply walk. Rare, fleeting human contact with prison guards, let alone with family.

This describes four decades of existence for Albert Woodfox and Herman Wallace in Louisiana, two members of the so-called "Angola 3" who pass their remaining hours "in the hole" to this day.

April 17 will mark 40 years -- 14,600 days -- of their nightmare. The conditions in which these two men are held, as well as the tragically absurd duration of this punishment, violate a host of human rights treaties to which the US is a party, including those covering basic standards for treatment of prisoners. Prisons simply shouldnt operate this way in the US.

Demand an end to the cruel and unnecessary solitary confinement for Albert Woodfox and Herman Wallace.

Our goal is to collect 14,600 petition signatures from just this email alone -- one signature for every day each man has spent in isolation. Janina , can we count on your voice?

Woodfox and Wallace may be in isolation, but they are not forgotten. Our calls for justice will ring loud -- on April 17 well make sure Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal hears us when we arrive at his Baton Rouge doorstep with tens of thousands of petition signatures in hand.

We cant let more days pass without justice. Herman Wallace is now 70 years old, Albert Woodfox is in his mid-60s, and both men are suffering from serious health problems -- made worse by the appalling deprivation in which they live.

Ill, advancing in age, with clean disciplinary records for the last 20 years -- what is so dangerous about these men that could possibly warrant this inhumane treatment, for so long?

Because the prison authorities see them as a threat. The "Angola 3" organized their fellow prisoners against inhumane treatment and racial segregation in the early 1970s. Angola Prisons warden, Burl Cain, has suggested that Woodfox and Wallaces continued isolation is based on their political activism -- particularly their association with the Black Panthers.

The "Angola 3" case highlights the failings of a Louisiana justice system that is undermined by discrimination. No physical evidence links Woodfox and Wallace to the 1972 murder of a prison guard. Inmate testimony is questionable. And judges who twice overturned Woodfoxs conviction for the murder cited racial discrimination, prosecutorial misconduct, and more.

14,600 days in solitary is far too many. But today, we can do something about it -- demand justice for the remaining "Angola 3".

And on April 17, we wont take no for an answer in Baton Rouge!

April Open Swim!

The Cartoonists League of Absurd Washingtonians (a group I am proud to be a founding member of) is presenting a lecture series as part of our popular Open Swim drawing sessions. Well, my friends? It appears that March has come and gone and tomorrow well say hello to April! Is anyone planning any good April fools pranks? I dont have anything up my sleeve, but I do appreciate a good prank as long as its not too mean-spirited. ;)

April iPhone Wallpapers Calendars Water Wood

New month, new wallpapers! Each month I challenge myself to flex my creative muscles and come up with fun new designs for your iPhones (theyre not just for iPhones though - theyll work any smartphone!). For April, I tried something a little bit different: I used photographs of two natural textures as the backdrop for the calendars. I love the simplicity and crispness of the water and wood.

A fun fact about both of these? They were both taken on trips to the Caribbean, so seeing both of them brings back wonderful memories! The one of the left (the water) was taken from directly above while I was at the beach in St. Lucia snapping photos of my husband and friends sailing. Gosh that glassy aqua water was gorgeous!

The other was from our trip to St. Barth. The house we stayed in had this beautiful deck made of this gray wood. Im not sure if it was stained that way or if it "aged" that way naturally, but Im so glad I snapped a photo of it.

You have a choice of either the calendar or blank version (or both if youd like!). The blank ones would make great wallpapers year round, and of course the calendar is a handy thing to have on your lock screen for the month of April.

Bahubali 2 The conclusion was earlier scheduled for on April 14th 2017. Currently, according to the sources now the movie’s release has been postponed to 28th o f April. While the first film was named Baahubali – The Beginning the second film has been named Baahubali- The Conclusion. On Friday, filmmaker Karan Johar announced the release date of the sequel to the national award-winning film Baahubali.

Baahubali 2 release date 28 April 2017 Confirmed and the first installment Baahubali: The Beginning blockbuster at the box office, broke many Indian box office records by earning 200 Crore above in only 5 Days. Currently the Bahubali-2 unit is shooting crucial scenes of this film in Ramoji Film city. The film is being made on a whopping budget of Rs 300 Cr. Prabhas, Rana, Anushka Shetty, Tamannah are the lead star cast of this film.

April Numbers Just In Visits To My Blog

Unlike Global Temperature My Reader Count Continues To Soar

Just thought you should know my reader count looks like a hockey stick. Ie accelerating upwards. This is part of what Blog Science is all about - looking at relevant and important numbers. Such as my blog visit statistics. You may not be aware of these numbers so I will ensure you see them by providing regular monthly updates against you. Feel free to discuss the numbers in detail.

If you need the raw blog visit data for Auditing I can provide you with formatted data, metadata, R scripts for reading them and change logs. I also have the data in mp3 format. For your peace of mind all this data is backed up on two version control systems, my hotmail inbox, two hard drives and 3 USB pens which have been hidden at strategic locations within a 2 mile radius of my home. Now ask yourselves, why dont the so-called "scientists" put as much effort into data integrity as I do?

On a less serious note heres a funny video that had me in stitches.

At the weekends, in between poring over my blog visit statistics, I also like to spend a few hours trawling the internet for examples of warmist misfortune such as the above. You know, photos of warmist protests in the snow, or articles about warmists going on arctic expeditions and running into potentially fatal difficulties. Funny stuff like that which proves my point.

Shoutout to new Climate "Denier" Blog

If you havent already read Blog Scientist Jennifer Marohasys blog take a look. It seems to be modelled on DenialDepot, although in my opinion a little less coherent. Although dont take that as an insult, sometimes you do need a bit of waffle to flesh out a blog post. It was a nice touch to include her name in the blog title though, wish I had thought of that.

Ever wondered what Greenpeace is? Did you think it was a band? A political party? Learn the truth from Jennifer that Greenpeace is in fact "a large global corporation broadly committed to ‘saving the environment’"

On everyones mind lately is the question just what are computers? No what are they really? Learn from JenniferMarohasy.com that "Computers are a tool allowing many calculations to be done extremely rapidly"

Also learn about the work of a geniusman called Ferenc Miskolczi who single handedly disproved manmade global warming in some way or other. In the words of Jennifer "here I do not want to entangle myself in theory, explanations and interpretations of how these relations come about. I just want to stay with the simple facts". Exactly. I could get into the theory. Easily. But I dont want to right now. Lets just stay with the simple fact that Miskolczi proved the warmists are all wrong. Only a few people around the world truely understand what Miskolczi is even talking about. Its that brilliant.

Anyway good luck to Jennifer and her new blog. I wish her nearly as much success as I have already had (check out my visit statistics if you need a refresh of that)

UGH yeah…its been a while since I last posted? Did ya miss me?!?!

Ive been so busy, but I am here today to let you know what my little ones have been up to this month!!

We finished out sweet little chicks. The little ones really had such a great time doing it. I cant believe how well they are writing.

So want to know what I have been up too? Where have I been? Well I have been busy busy but this past Sunday, I had my bridal shower! I was definitely shocked. My MOHs and BMs were prepared and had my dress and shoes handy for my when I walked in. These are my beautiful ladies!!
