Australia Protect Our Privacy National Day of Action Saturday July 6 prismbreak

Australia Protect Our Privacy National Day of Action Saturday July 6 prismbreak

Over the last few weeks the scandals and revelations have kept coming, as the scale of the United States secret surveillance apparatus, such as NSA PRISM, is slowly being revealed to the world. What we see now is a dragnet spying operation targeting everyone: you, your family, your friends, community groups, religious organisations, activists and political parties from all over the world.

Privacy is still a fundamental human right in the information age. It protects our dignity from those who would wish us harm and prevents the state from intruding into our lives. Privacy gives us the freedom to live our lives the way we want to and we need to defend it!

Actions are being planned on July 6 all around Australia. Get involved!

Are you doing enough to protect your secrets Its unlikely

Are you doing enough to protect your secrets Its unlikely

If the person who heads the CIA cant keep his "secrets"; nothings secret. Its as simple as that.

What are you doing to ensure your intellectual property is protected?

Lawyers will claim their contracts are enough. Management will leave their heads in the sand and claim their IT folks are handling it. Neither are enough.

Fix the silly/ridiculous/inexcusable low-hanging fruit on your network and then put the proper technologies and procedures in place to build things out from there. No matter how much money youve spent, how good your IT staff is, and how much you trust your employees, theres always room for improvement.
