AppLock Patcher v1 0

AppLock Patcher v1 0

Location: 444 W Fullerton
Cost: About $25 per person

Arif, KVG, Jenny, and I were planning dinner the other week. Everyone was thinking somewhat casual, so I threw out some options to the group. We ended up choosing Chicago Pizza and Oven Grinder Company. It was freezing cold out that night, and a huge pizza pot pie seemed right up my alley. Unfortunately, when we got there the wait was 2+ hours. Without a clear plan, we aimlessly wandered up Clark St. When we got to Fullerton, we saw that this relatively new place had replaced what had previously been Zapatista.... Standard Market Grill.

Logistics
Theyve got this whole mixed order at the counter but you still get a waiter setup. The restaurant is split into a bar area that is relatively lively and a somewhat duller dining area. We took the quieter option off to the side. As far as costs and portions go, things were pretty fair. Most entrees were in the mid teens. One issue we ran into was that all four of our dishes came out at separate times.

The Food
To start things off we went with the Chips and Guacamole which was a bit limey for my taste, but the warm chips scored them points.

The Chips and Guac

For the main course Jenny got the Grilled Salmon, Arif went with the Cali Burger, KVG got the Mustard Honey Chicken Sandwich, and I ordered the Iowa White Chicken. The salmon was a little under cooked and came with a decent portion of couscous and bok choy that were a bit bland. My chicken was appropriately prepared with some wilted spinach that kept the underseasoned theme going strong. The mashed potatoes were the star of the plate. Arif and KVG thought their sandwiches were just OK, and I didnt go reaching across the table for a bite or anything.

The Cali Burger

 The Honey Mustard Chicken Sandwich

 The Grilled Scottish Salmon

 The Iowa White

For dessert, we went with Jennys favorite, a Skillet Cookie with Ice Cream. The cookie was too well done and had more crunch than chew to it. Still, its hard not to wolf one of those down.

The Cookie Skillet

Overall
Standard Market Grill was a very average American dining experience. None of the dishes stood out all that much, but for the most part things were well prepared and appropriately priced per portion. It reminded me a bit of Doc Bs except with less excitement and subtler flavors. Im giving them 2.5 out of 5 Pearls.

Avast Patcher v1 0

Avast Patcher v1 0

On my list of things i love summer flowers and sewing notions would both be quite high up :)....
..............i made some cube shaped pincushions, inspired by the applique baby blocks in my book *pretty patchwork gifts*..............instead of adding bunny appliques i added sewing themed ribbon and a button or two, and i used some sewing themed japanese fabric as well................
.................i made a big block which is great to stand next to the sewing machine and receive the pins as i work...........you can fill these blocks with walnut shells for a bit of weight and help with pin sharpening, or use polyester filling and maybe add a little dried lavender to it............
................or some dried rose petals...........here is my candy pink rose flowering away at its peak time of the year...........the flowers start off deep sugar pink and as they grow bigger they get paler but still as pretty..................
..................another little cube pincushion............this one has some of my favourite text prints combined with strawberries...............and a little selvedge tag to match the colours.............
..............we have had lots of delicious strawberries this week.......i took some pictures of them before they were gone..............below is my sewing hoop.............i found this pale pink vintage cup and saucer (and a plate too, it was a trio) at a local shop recently................
.................i am giving this pincushion to a friend as she admired it :)...................
................this week i am super busy with work commissions, all lovely things to do and i like to take my time over each project and enjoy the making so i am going to be working some very long hours...............
.................one more dish of strawberries and below some of the candy pink roses, slowly losing the petals very prettily onto the table..............
................when i had my pretty little box-making crush a few weeks ago i made this little sewing gift box too but didnt get around to showing it before............the box is a paper mache one which i painted pale blue (two coats) inside and out...............then i decorated the top with these lovely paper sewing embellishments from kaisercrafts...............
................it is just the right size to hold special sewing thread for a stitching friend...........
...............we had some lovely friends here last weekend and one of the treats they brought us was a big bunch of peonies and stocks..............gorgeous scent and colour..............i have moved the vase into my sewing room so i can enjoy it while i work.........

..................thank you for visiting me here, lovely readers, and thank you for all your kind comments, it is such a treat to hear from you............i hope you are having a wonderful week wherever you are and are enjoying some crafty times, flowers and sunshine..............back soon xxxxxxxxxxx
